Keuka College and Finger Lakes Community Health have launched a workforce development partnership that will provide tuition discounts to more than 200 FLCH employees and their families while expanding internship, clinical and hiring opportunities for students.
The agreement is intended to strengthen the regional pipeline of nurses, social workers and behavioral health professionals serving rural and underserved communities.
FLCH employees and their family members will be eligible for discounts in Keuka College's online and hybrid programs, including bachelor's and master's degree programs in nursing, social work and management.
Students in those fields and related programs such as psychology and occupational therapy will have greater access to Field Period experiences, clinical placements and potential long-term employment at FLCH. The Penn Yan-based health organization operates eight centers serving six adjoining counties.
Keuka College Vice President Pete Bekisz said the agreement builds on both organizations' use of online education, telehealth, remote training and hands-on learning. FLCH CEO Mary Zelazny said the partnership will create opportunities for students and employees while helping address the region's health and social care needs.
