Thirty young performers from four Finger Lakes-area counties will take the stage in Lake Country Players' production of "Rock of Ages: Teen Edition" in Watkins Glen from Aug. 6 through Aug. 8.
Evening performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. each day at the Watkins Glen High School auditorium, with an additional 2 p.m. matinee on Aug. 8.
The family-friendly musical follows young dreamers pursuing fame, friendship and love on the Sunset Strip during the 1980s. It features songs associated with Journey, Styx, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, REO Speedwagon and Poison.
The cast includes performers from Schuyler, Chemung, Steuben and Yates counties. Alex Gill and Kelsey Gill are directing the production, with Kim Laursen serving as music director and Kelsey Gill leading choreography with assistance from Arloween Loucks-Scuteri.
The directing team said rehearsals have helped the young cast members develop friendships, confidence, teamwork and creativity while preparing to share their work with the community.
Tickets will be sold at the door beginning 45 minutes before each performance. Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for students.
