A Wayne County homeowner’s experience is raising new concerns about online garage door repair companies that appear local but may not be, according to News10NBC. The investigation found repair workers arrived in an unmarked truck after the homeowner filled out a form on a sponsored website.
The homeowner said she meant to contact an established local company but instead reached Speedy Garage Door through an online result.
News10NBC reported that Speedy Garage Door’s website was created in 2025 and featured staff photos that appeared to belong to people unrelated to the business.
The company was not registered with the New York State Department of State as of May 15, according to the report.
Homeowners are advised to avoid sponsored links and verify local companies through office locations and direct contact information.
