University of Rochester Medicine Finger Lakes Health is urging families to schedule school physicals before the busy back-to-school season begins.
The health system said annual well-child visits and school physicals help ensure children are healthy, up to date on required immunizations and ready for the school year.
The visits also give families a chance to discuss a child's growth, development, sports participation and any health concerns with a provider, according to the announcement.
Families can schedule appointments at any of University of Rochester Medicine Finger Lakes Health's nine primary care offices throughout the region. To schedule a school physical or learn more about pediatric and primary care services, families can visit flhealth.org or call the physician referral line at 315-787-4060.
Children can also receive pediatric care at Finger Lakes Health Primary Care in Geneva, located in the medical office building on the Geneva General Hospital campus. Appointments at that office can be scheduled by calling 315-787-5445.
University of Rochester Medicine Finger Lakes Health said it is committed to providing health care close to home with access to the expertise and resources of the University of Rochester Medicine system.
