The Skaneateles Antique and Classic Boat Show returns to Clift Park July 24 to 26 with dozens of exhibitors and about 80 displays on water and land. The free show will feature classic runabouts, launches, sailboats, canoes, rowing craft and race boats, many restored to their original condition.
Hours are 3 p.m. to dusk Friday, July 24, 9 a.m. to dusk Saturday, July 25, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 26.
The show is in its 48th year overall and its 32nd year in Skaneateles. It is hosted by the Finger Lakes Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society and the Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
Featured boats include Black Witch, a 1926 Hacker Craft owned by the Marsden family of Auburn; Sapphire, a 1959 Beeline Sapphire owned by Steve Shehadi of Skaneateles; Smuggler's Blues, a 1982 Chris-Craft Stinger 390 owned by Daniel Williams of Rome, New York; and Little Toot, a mini-tugboat returning for its second year.
Weekend activities include a boat parade led by the Skaneateles Fire Department at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, musical performances, model antique boat displays, guided village bus tours, youth judging, toy wooden boat painting for children and a Sunday photo shoot and spectator cruise aboard the Judge Ben Wiles.
Judging in 35 categories will take place Saturday morning, and visitors can vote throughout the weekend for the People's Choice Award. The award will be presented at 1:45 p.m. Sunday.
Paid parking is available in the municipal lot, with free parking at the Austin Park Pavilion lot and in the lower gravel lot of Skaneateles High School. A free shuttle sponsored by Sherwood Inns & Appetites will run between the lots and the village.
