The Rochester Folk Art Guild will open its Middlesex workshops to the public July 18 and 19 as part of the inaugural National Craft Open Studios Weekend.
The free event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the guild, 1445 Upper Hill Road in Middlesex.
Visitors can tour the guild's pottery, woodworking, weaving and sewing studios, meet resident artists, see works in progress and learn about traditional craft techniques. East Hill Gallery will also be open with handmade pottery, woodwork, textiles, natural fiber clothing and other work by guild artists.
The nationwide event is presented by the American Craft Council as part of Handwork: Celebrating American Craft 2026, a yearlong initiative tied to the semiquincentennial.
The Rochester Folk Art Guild was founded in 1957 and is based at East Hill Farm in the Finger Lakes region. The nonprofit artist community and craft education center offers workshops, apprenticeships, lectures, concerts, exhibitions, festivals and gallery programming.
