USA vs Belgium World Cup 2026 Round of 16 Clash Builds Massive Hype Ahead of Knockout Match Fuller, 58, earned his 37th career Series victory and the $6,076 winner’s prize after starting from the pole and keeping Payne behind him in the 60-lap feature.
The Edwards driver outdueled Land of Legends regular Justin Haers at the start and led the opening lap. Haers challenged early from the inside lane before Payne began moving forward, passing Peter Britten for third on Lap 4.
After a caution on Lap 6, Payne used the restart to battle Haers for second, then switched to the bottom and took the spot on Lap 9. He followed Fuller until another caution on Lap 22 gave him a chance at the lead.
Payne briefly nosed ahead on the backstretch after Fuller chose the inside lane for a restart, but the pass was wiped out by another caution. Fuller then chose the outside lane for the rest of the race, a decision that helped him control the remaining restarts.

Payne appeared to jump ahead again with 18 laps to go, but the yellow returned when officials ruled he had jumped the start. Fuller pulled away on the next restart and stayed in front to the finish.
Payne, of Hopewell, finished second for his best Series finish of 2026 and his best Series finish at Land of Legends. Matt Sheppard finished third, earning his fourth straight top-five finish.
Alex Yankowski finished fourth after starting 14th and extended his Series points lead to 14 over Mat Williamson, who finished 10th. Britten rounded out the top five.
Race awards included the JAM Performance Fastest Hot Lap Award for Payne, the Billy Whittaker Cars and Trux Quick Time Award for Felix Roy and the SRI Performance/Stock Car Steel Pole Award for Fuller. Series officials said all cars passed post-race technical inspection.
