An Auburn man faces a felony drug charge following an investigation that began after a multi-vehicle crash in the Town of Sennett this spring.
The arrest stems from an April 24 crash on Grant Avenue Road near Nelson Road, where sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported collision involving multiple vehicles.
Jason L. Bergerstock, 41, of Auburn, was arrested June 6 and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said information gathered during the crash investigation led to the charge.
Authorities said Bergerstock was transported to Upstate University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following the crash. Deputies later determined he was in possession of a controlled substance, leading to the issuance of a warrant.
He was taken into custody, arraigned through the county’s centralized arraignment process, and released with a future court date in Town of Sennett Court.
