Summer will officially kick off along Seneca Lake later this month as the Watkins Glen Waterfront Festival returns for its 33rd year at Seneca Harbor Park.
The annual event, organized by Watkins Glen Promotions, will take place Saturday, June 20, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., featuring live music, local vendors, family activities, food, and the festival’s signature Cardboard Boat Regatta.
Festival vendors will open at 11 a.m., offering local products, crafts, food and community information. Organizers said families can enjoy a free Family Zone with face painting, balloon art, children’s crafts provided by Schuyler County Libraries, and a new sensory tent intended to create a more inclusive experience for attendees.

Live entertainment begins with Uncle Joe and Fiddlin’ Renee performing from noon to 1:30 p.m. The Sweats will close out the day with a performance from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Nearly Famous Cardboard Boat Regatta is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Teams will race handmade cardboard boats across the harbor as spectators line the waterfront to watch one of the festival’s most popular traditions.
Admission is free. Organizers said the event is made possible through support from local sponsors, volunteers, and several state and regional organizations.
