School officials in Bradford and Campbell-Savona are taking the next step in exploring a possible district merger, launching a formal feasibility study that will examine everything from academics and finances to transportation and staffing.
The Bradford and Campbell-Savona boards of education recently selected Schmitt Leadership Group LLC to conduct a comprehensive reorganization feasibility study. District leaders emphasized that the study does not represent a decision to merge, but rather a process designed to help both communities understand the potential impacts of reorganization.
According to a joint letter to district residents, the study will review instructional programs, extracurricular offerings, enrollment trends, facilities, transportation, staffing, labor contracts, finances and tax implications. Officials said the goal is to gather data and provide communities with information before any future decisions are made.
The process will begin this summer with data collection and interviews involving district leaders and board members. Public forums, focus groups and surveys are planned throughout the study, with additional community engagement opportunities scheduled for the fall. A joint kickoff meeting between the two boards is scheduled for June 15 from 5 to 6 p.m. at Campbell-Savona Junior-Senior High School.
A draft report is expected by December, with final recommendations anticipated in early 2027 after review by state education officials. District leaders stressed that no decision has been made regarding a merger and said any future action would require additional public discussion and consideration by both boards of education.
