One of Cayuga County’s longtime spring traditions returns this week as the Weedsport Fire Department prepares to host three days of rides, live music, parades, tournaments, and food during the annual Fireman’s Field Days celebration.
The event runs Thursday through Saturday, May 28-30, featuring midway rides, games, entertainment, and community activities at the fire department grounds in Weedsport.
Festivities begin Thursday with lunch at noon, followed by the opening of rides at 6 p.m. for Buddy Day. A kiddie parade is scheduled for 6 p.m., while DJ Piper performs from 6 to 9 p.m.
Friday’s lineup includes lunch at noon, rides opening at 6 p.m., and the annual grand parade at 7 p.m. Live music from Mike Farrar and the Houserockers is planned from 8 p.m. until midnight, along with an auxiliary cake booth opening at 8 p.m.
Saturday features a full day of activities beginning with lunch at noon and rides opening at 1 p.m. Organizers also scheduled a chicken barbecue, horseshoe tournament, cornhole tournament, and live performances from DJ Piper and the band Southbound Train.
The event’s midway is operated by Playland Amusements and includes rides, games, and carnival food throughout the weekend.
Advance sale tickets are available at Pit Stop in Weedsport and at the village office.
