The Hobart Statesmen baseball program earned postseason recognition on Tuesday as three players were named to ABCA and D3baseball.com All-Region teams, capping a 2026 season in which the program finished 32-15, set multiple school records, and reached just the second NCAA Tournament appearance in team history at various sites throughout its postseason run. Senior pitcher Teck Nash, junior first baseman Sean Garvin, and first-year shortstop Jack O’Neil all collected honors following one of the most accomplished seasons in Hobart baseball history.
Nash, the 2026 Liberty League Pitcher of the Year, anchored the rotation by breaking program records for starts (14) and innings pitched (82.0) while tying the school mark with seven wins. He also struck out 50 batters and ranked among the national leaders in control with 1.21 walks per nine innings. Across his career, Nash emerged as one of the most durable arms in program history, finishing with a 13-15 record, 227.0 innings pitched, and just 44 walks allowed.
Garvin delivered a dominant offensive season, hitting .398 with a Hobart single-season record 19 doubles, five triples, and six home runs while driving in 50 runs and scoring 51 times. He also turned in a flawless defensive year at first base. O’Neil matched Garvin for the team lead in runs scored, hitting .369 with 28 stolen bases and earning Liberty League Rookie of the Year honors after a breakout debut season.
Hobart capped its historic year with program bests in wins, runs, hits, and doubles, and went 2-2 in the Salisbury Regional, including a pair of wins over nationally ranked Mount Union.
The Statesmen will open the 2027 season at a date, time, and location to be announced as they look to build off their record-breaking 2026 campaign.
