Wayne County man charged with DWI after erratic driving in Marion

A Wayne County man was charged with driving while intoxicated after deputies responded to a traffic complaint in the Town of Marion early Thursday morning.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said Jorge De Jesus Bello, 35, of Maple Avenue in Marion, was arrested following reports that he was driving erratically and may have struck another vehicle. Deputies said a concerned citizen called 911 after observing the vehicle on the road.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies determined De Jesus Bello was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI for allegedly having a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher, and an open container violation.

Authorities said De Jesus Bello voluntarily submitted to a chemical test at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, where his BAC was measured at .15%.

He was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Marion Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
