A Campbell man was arrested last week following a child sexual abuse investigation involving a juvenile under the age of 11, according to New York State Police.
State Police in Painted Post said investigators received a report May 6 alleging that David J. Brooker, 37, of Campbell, had inappropriate sexual contact with the child.
Following the investigation, Brooker was arrested May 7 and charged with first-degree sexual abuse, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
Investigators said the alleged incidents occurred in the town of Campbell in Steuben County.
Brooker was processed at the State Police barracks in Painted Post and transported to the Steuben County Jail pending arraignment. Police said orders of protection were requested on behalf of the juvenile victim.
State Police said the investigation remains ongoing and noted that Steuben County Child Protective Services and the Child Advocacy Center assisted with the case.
