Thousands of Steuben County residents received mental health and substance use support last year, according to the Corning Leader, as officials expand services across the region. County programs delivered more than 24,000 mental health clinic visits and nearly 14,000 substance abuse treatment services in 2025.
Steuben County partnered with groups including Clarity Wellness, CASA-Trinity, Catholic Charities, and local law enforcement agencies to widen access to care. Mobile Crisis Services answered 1,388 contacts, while forensic teams supported about 76% of the county jail population through evaluations and treatment coordination.
County leaders also expanded peer support programs, suicide prevention outreach, and harm reduction efforts during Mental Health Awareness Month. Officials said residents can reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline or the county crisis line seven days a week for immediate help.
