A new partnership between Keuka College and a regional hospital aims to strengthen the pipeline of healthcare workers in the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier.
Keuka College announced it has launched a business partnership with St. James Hospital in Hornell, an affiliate of the University of Rochester Medical Center, creating new educational and career pathways for healthcare professionals.
Under the agreement, employees at St. James Hospital will be eligible for discounted tuition in Keuka College’s online and hybrid degree programs. That includes options like the RN-to-BS program, which allows working nurses to meet New York’s education requirements while continuing their careers, as well as a master’s program in leadership with a healthcare focus.
Hospital leadership said the partnership is designed to invest in both workforce development and long-term patient care. By helping employees advance their education locally, officials say the collaboration supports stronger staffing and improved access to care in the region.
The agreement also creates opportunities for Keuka College students, who will be able to complete Field Period internships and clinical placements at St. James Hospital’s medical campus.
College officials said the partnership builds on a shared history between the two institutions, both founded in 1890, and reflects a broader effort to keep talent in the region while addressing growing demand for healthcare professionals.
St. James Hospital provides a range of services including emergency care, surgery, rehabilitation and specialty clinics, serving communities across the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes.
