Ithaca College names faculty member as graduate commencement speaker

An Ithaca College faculty member who once walked the same stage as a student will return this spring to deliver the keynote address at the college’s graduate commencement ceremony.

Tim Reynolds, an assistant professor in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance, has been selected as the featured speaker for the 2026 Graduate Hooding and Commencement ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, May 16.

The ceremony, set to take place in Glazer Arena at the Athletics & Events Center, will honor students earning master’s and doctoral degrees.

Reynolds, who earned both his undergraduate and doctoral degrees from Ithaca College, teaches anatomy and physiology and also works as a part-time outpatient orthopedic physical therapist with Cayuga Medical Center. His research focuses on communication in patient outcomes and innovative teaching methods, including the use of gamification and social media in the classroom.

He has built a large online following by sharing educational medical content, reaching more than 1 million followers across platforms. Reynolds has also contributed to academic publications and coauthored a book focused on leadership and mentorship in movement science.

Beyond academics, Reynolds has ties to the college’s athletics and entrepreneurial programs. A former member of the Bombers baseball team, he now serves as a faculty athletic mentor. As a graduate student, he co-developed a fitness product concept that won both Ithaca College and statewide business plan competitions.

The graduate ceremony is part of Ithaca College’s broader commencement weekend. The college’s 131st undergraduate commencement is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, also in Glazer Arena.
