MEETING NOTICE: Geneva City Council to review strategic plan

City leaders will begin reviewing a proposed two-year roadmap for Geneva’s priorities during a special City Council meeting Tuesday night.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. March 17 at City Hall on Castle Street.

Council members are expected to discuss a proposed 2026–2027 strategic plan that outlines policy priorities and the sequence of major initiatives over the next two years.

The proposal focuses on several top priorities for 2026, including housing development, the city’s budget and financial planning process, downtown economic development, and long-term infrastructure planning for water, sewer and stormwater systems.

City officials say the plan is intended to move the council toward a more structured approach to policy decisions with defined priorities and timelines.

Council will consider setting a public hearing for the strategic plan during the meeting. If approved, that hearing would take place April 1 before council considers formally adopting the plan.

The agenda also includes presentations from the city’s finance and assessor departments and a briefing from the city manager’s office covering recreation, economic development, facilities and code enforcement.

Council members are also expected to discuss the structure of future council meetings and receive an overview of the city’s comprehensive planning process.
