Couple charged after Target shoplifting

Two people were arrested after deputies said they concealed merchandise and tried to leave a Target store in Victor without paying.

Amanda Youngs, 39, and Mathew Youngs, 40, both of Barclay Road in Sodus, were charged with petit larceny following the incident.

Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Target at 7500 Commons Blvd. around 1:20 p.m. March 9.

Investigators said the pair concealed several items in a purse and reusable shopping bags before passing all points of sale without paying.

Authorities said the merchandise was valued at $276.09.

Deputies transported both to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office substation, where they were issued appearance tickets.

Youngs and Youngs are scheduled to appear in Victor Town Court at a later date.
