Auburn man contacted protected parties from jail, now faces new charges in Seneca

A man accused of contacting protected individuals while jailed now faces multiple felony charges in Seneca County.

Justin E. Helmick, 37, of Auburn, was arrested March 5 by Seneca County Sheriff’s Investigators on three counts of first-degree criminal contempt and three counts of aggravated family offense.

Investigators said the charges stem from an order of protection violation. Authorities allege Helmick contacted protected parties multiple times while he was incarcerated at the Seneca County Jail.

Helmick was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court following the arrest.

He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Romulus Court at a later date to answer the charges.
