Former Auburn travel agent must repay $60K

A former Auburn travel agent must repay more than $60,000 after admitting she took money from more victims, according to The Citizen.

DeAnna R. Taylor, 65, returned to Cayuga County Court this week. She previously paid about $17,000 in restitution tied to her Auburn Travel Bureau and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor. Prosecutors then added a felony after she identified four more victims. Authorities say she took about $75,000 from seven people and kept the money instead of booking trips.

Judge Jon Budelmann ordered five years of probation and full repayment within five years. If she misses the deadline, she faces prison. If she pays, she can plead to the misdemeanor again.
