A single-vehicle crash in the Town of Phelps led to a felony driving while ability impaired charge Sunday evening.
Ethan A. Bretz, 28, of Shortsville, was taken into custody March 1 following an investigation into a property damage crash at State Route 96 and Everson Road, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the crash happened around 6:46 p.m. Investigators determined Bretz was operating the vehicle in an impaired condition prior to the crash.
Authorities charged him with driving while ability impaired, a felony.
Deputies took Bretz into custody without incident following the investigation.
Investigators also determined he had a prior DWAI conviction within the past 10 years.
