Sterling Renaissance Festival owner charged with stalking

The owner of the Sterling Renaissance Festival now faces a stalking charge, according to The Citizen. City police say a woman reported that he followed her in his car on Dec. 4, offered her a ride twice, then trailed her to a store.

Officers charged Doug Waterbury, of Oswego, with fourth-degree stalking. He received a court summons, appeared for fingerprinting Jan. 28, and a judge issued a temporary order of protection. His next court date is March 3.

Waterbury paid $850,000 to settle sexual harassment lawsuits in 2017 and 2018. Those settlements barred him from managing rental properties, though records show he later faced arrest for violating court orders.
