Shoplifting investigation leads to two arrests in Victor

Deputies arrested two Canandaigua residents after investigating a larceny at Kohl’s in Victor.

Thomas J. Fathergill Jr., 36, and Kathleen M. Creswell, 58, both of West Avenue in Canandaigua, face charges following the incident at the store on Commerce Drive on Feb. 24, authorities said.


Investigators charged Fathergill with petit larceny. They charged Creswell with fourth-degree grand larceny.

Deputies recovered $58.98 worth of merchandise from Fathergill and $1,579.88 worth of merchandise from Creswell, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

The arrests happened around 2:20 p.m. after deputies responded to Kohl’s at 439 Commerce Drive.

Both defendants received appearance tickets. They will answer the charges in Victor Town Court at a later date.
