A monthlong trial ended with a murder conviction in Tioga County, according to WENY. Jurors found Jon Glennon guilty Friday of murder and kidnapping in the 2023 disappearance and killing of Thomas Rath.
Prosecutors tied the charges to Rath’s disappearance from a homeless encampment in Ithaca in May 2023. Evidence showed attackers tortured him at a Newfield home, then shot and left him in Candor. Investigators found his remains months later on state land in August.
Jurors deliberated about six hours over two days before reaching the verdict. Glennon faces 25 years to life on the murder charge and will return to court for sentencing in late April. Three others have also been convicted in the case.
