A 149,000-square-foot Amazon warehouse in Big Flats heads to a key public hearing Wednesday, according to WENY. Town board members will consider a special use permit for “Project Milo” during their 4:30 p.m. meeting at Town Hall.
The proposed distribution center would sit off Lowe Road near Sperr Park and Interstate 86. The planning board already granted site plan approval with conditions, but the project still needs town board sign-off.
Leaders say the facility would sort packages for last-mile delivery and could bring jobs. Critics continue to raise concerns about traffic, environmental impacts and neighborhood quality of life. If approved, the developer must complete road work, utility approvals and stormwater requirements before construction begins.
