An October trial now looms for a man accused of killing his 11-year-old son and girlfriend, according to CNY Central. An Onondaga County judge set David Huff’s trial for Oct. 19 and scheduled a pre-trial hearing for April 7.
Prosecutors charged Huff with first- and second-degree murder in the deaths of Jeremiah Huff, 11, and Yeraldith Tschudy, 32. Police say he used a 12-gauge shotgun during the March 17, 2025 shootings at a home on Roney Road in Syracuse’s Valley neighborhood.
Authorities also charged him with attempted murder for allegedly pointing the gun at his stepfather and with criminal weapon possession. Prosecutors previously offered a plea deal that would have carried consecutive 20-years-to-life sentences.
