Hobart (1-2) took momentum midway through the second half, using a three-goal stretch across the third and fourth quarters to claim a 10-9 lead. Extra-man goals from Connor DiTomasso and Bryce Johnson gave the Statesmen the advantage with 8:31 remaining, but Bucknell responded with three unanswered goals to regain control and seal the victory.

David Peterkin, DiTomasso and Daniel Cano led the Hobart offense with three points each, recording two goals and one assist apiece. The Statesmen capitalized on special teams opportunities, finishing 3-for-4 on extra-man chances while holding Bucknell scoreless in two attempts.

The teams were tied after both the first quarter and halftime before Bucknell gained separation late. The Bison outshot Hobart 43-31.
