Wet roads and high speed sent a vehicle crashing through two yards and into a pool in Clifton Springs late Thursday afternoon.
Dane F. Cook, 45, of Brockport, drove the vehicle, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office. Danielle Marie Cook, 43, also of Brockport, rode in the car.
Deputies responded around 4 p.m. to the intersection of State Route 488 and Waddell Road for a single-car personal injury crash, according to a press release .
Investigators say the vehicle traveled at a high rate of speed on wet roads and failed to navigate a bend in Route 488 safely. The car then drove through two yards, struck a pool, and hit a porch, causing heavy damage to property and structures at the homes .


Mercy Flight transported Dane Cook from the scene. Ambulances took the other passenger for further care .
Clifton Springs Fire, Seneca Castle Fire, Manchester and Shortsville Fire, Phelps Ambulance, Finger Lakes Ambulance, and Mercy Flight assisted at the scene .
Deputy Pitkin is investigating the crash. Authorities have not issued any citations, and the investigation remains ongoing .
