Nearly two years after someone smashed a TV inside a town highway building, two former officials now await key court arguments, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

Prosecutors charged former supervisor Don Trout and ex-board member Bob Lotz with third-degree burglary tied to a March 2024 break-in at the Waterloo Highway Department. Trout also faces seven misdemeanors and a violation, while Lotz faces an additional misdemeanor.

Judge Barry Porsch will hear Lotz’s pretrial motions Feb. 23 and Trout’s on March 18 in Seneca County Court. State Police arrested both in January 2025, and a grand jury indicted them six months later.
