The Buffalo Bills continued shaping their roster for the 2026 season by re-signing offensive lineman Alec Anderson to a one-year contract worth $3 million, including $1.8 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Anderson has served as a reliable depth option along Buffalo’s offensive line, appearing in all 17 games in each of the past two seasons while making six starts. Rather than entering restricted free agency, the Bills secured his return as potential changes loom up front.
Buffalo could see significant turnover on the interior offensive line, with left guard David Edwards and center Connor McGovern both scheduled to reach free agency. Their possible departures could position Anderson to compete for a starting role next season.
The former UCLA standout provides valuable versatility, having taken snaps at all five offensive line positions during his career. Anderson has also been used in heavy packages as a jumbo tight end, further highlighting his flexibility within the offense.
Over the last two seasons, Anderson has played 22% of the Bills’ offensive snaps and 30.5% on special teams, contributing in multiple phases.
Signed as an undrafted free agent in 2022, Anderson will enter his fifth season in Buffalo in 2026 with an opportunity to take on an expanded role along the offensive line.
