Cayuga Democrats back 2026 slate

Local Democrats lined up behind a full slate of candidates for 2026, according to The Citizen.

The Cayuga County Democratic Committee endorsed Gov. Kathy Hochul, Adrienne Adams for lieutenant governor, Attorney General Letitia James and Comptroller Tom DiNapoli. The party backed U.S. Rep. John Mannion in the 22nd District but skipped an endorsement in the 24th, where four Democrats seek to challenge Rep. Claudia Tenney.

Democrats also endorsed Ian Phillips in a rematch against Assemblyman John Lemondes, State Sen. Rachel May for reelection and Auburn attorney Ben Susman for county judge. The committee left several countywide races without a candidate and urged anyone interested to contact Chair Dia Carabajal.
