Police arrested a Lyons woman after a domestic incident involving the removal of a child from a legal guardian’s home.
Emily Oakes, 36, of Lyons, faces multiple charges following the arrest by the Seneca Falls Police Department.
Police said Oakes unlawfully removed a child from the home of the child’s legal guardian. Officers also accused her of stealing property that did not belong to her during the incident.
Police charged Oakes with Burglary in the Second Degree, a Class C felony. They also charged her with Custodial Interference in the Second Degree, an A misdemeanor, and Petit Larceny, an A misdemeanor.
Officers transported Oakes to the Seneca County Correctional Facility for arraignment.
