Police find Auburn woman inside apartment she was ordered to avoid

Police went to a Genesee Street address in Auburn while searching for a suspect from a separate incident and ended up making an arrest tied to a court order violation.

Officers responded to the area on Feb. 7 and located a woman they had been looking for, according to the Auburn Police Department.

Police identified the suspect as Kennedy C. Taylor, who officers said was in violation of a full stay-away order of protection. Investigators said Taylor was found inside the same apartment as the protected party.

Police arrested Taylor without incident and transported her to Auburn Police Department headquarters, where she was processed on the charges. Officers then took her to Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.

Taylor, born April 5, 1997, lists an address on Genesee Street in Auburn, police said.

She was charged with two counts of criminal contempt in the first degree, a Class E felony.
