Area residents who love to sing have a new chance to join a local music tradition this spring.
The Canaltown Chorale is inviting new members to join its upcoming concert season, with rehearsals beginning Tuesday, March 10, at the United Church of Marion.
Registration starts at 6:45 p.m., with rehearsal running from 7 to 9 p.m. Rehearsals will be held at the church’s right-side entrance at 3848 North Main Street in Marion.
The chorale welcomes singers of all voice parts in its SATB ensemble, including soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. Choral experience is helpful, but not required. Organizers encourage anyone who is unsure to attend March rehearsals to see if the group is a good fit.
The registration fee is $15 per concert season.
Members take part in two major concert series each year, including holiday performances in December and a themed concert in May or June. The group also performs at community events throughout the year.
Organizers describe the chorale as a supportive and enthusiastic group focused on making music together and serving the community.
