Police arrested four teens after a weeks-long investigation into a burglary that caused more than $50,000 in damage at an uninhabited home in Seneca Falls.
The Seneca Falls Police Department said the arrests happened during the final week of January and the first week of February. The individuals range in age from 14 to 18 and were linked to a burglary that occurred in mid-December, when the group unlawfully entered the residence and damaged the interior.
Investigators say the damage inside the building was extensive and led to an estimated loss exceeding $50,000.
As a result of the investigation, police charged two juveniles with third-degree burglary, a felony, and second-degree criminal mischief, also a felony. A third juvenile was charged with third-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor. The 18-year-old was also charged with third-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.
Police issued appearance tickets to all four individuals. They are scheduled to appear in the appropriate courts at a later date for arraignment.
