Hobart hockey erupted for four first-period goals and controlled play throughout in a dominant 7-0 SUNYAC victory over Potsdam on Saturday evening at The Cooler. The Statesmen became the first team in the nation to reach 20 wins this season.

Senior Tristan Fasig and sophomore Ryan Remick each recorded three points to pace the offense. Fasig finished with a goal and two assists, while Remick scored twice and added an assist. Senior Tanner Daniels chipped in two goals, and Hobart spread the scoring across all four lines.
Senior goaltender Mavrick Goyer anchored the shutout, stopping all 17 shots he faced to earn his second consecutive clean sheet. Hobart held a commanding 63-17 advantage in shots on goal and limited Potsdam to just three power-play opportunities, all of which were killed.
The Statesmen struck early, opening the scoring just over four minutes into the first period. Daniels added his first goal shortly after, and Remick followed with two tallies late in the frame to give Hobart a four-goal cushion after 20 minutes. Hobart added three more goals over the final two periods, including a power-play marker in the third, to close out the win.
The victory extended Hobart’s winning streak to 26 games and its unbeaten streak to 33. The Statesmen have now won 62 consecutive games on home ice and improved to 20-0-0 overall and 13-0-0 in SUNYAC play, marking their seventh straight 20-win season. Potsdam dropped to 7-11-1 overall and 4-7-1 in conference action.
Hobart returns to action on Friday, February 6, hosting Oswego at The Cooler. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
