The entire board of the Central New York SPCA resigned Wednesday, one day after employees walked out over alleged animal neglect, according to WSTM.
Staff accused leadership of allowing unsafe, inhumane conditions at the Syracuse shelter. In response, the board stepped down and announced a 30-day transition plan, bringing in nonprofit consultants to help reset operations by Feb. 28.
The state is planning an inspection following public outcry. The shelter hasn’t confirmed if any animals were removed.
