A stolen e-bike reported at a Canandaigua motel earlier this month has led to an arrest, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say they took a larceny report on January 8 after an ebike was reported stolen from the Super 8 Motel on State Route 5. The bike was valued at $300.
Deputies investigated the theft and later identified a suspect. On January 21, deputies arrested Jose A. Diaz, 18, of Rochester, in connection with the case.
Diaz was charged with petit larceny. Deputies issued him an appearance ticket, and he is scheduled to appear in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date.
The incident occurred at the Super 8 Motel at 4450 State Route 5 in Canandaigua. Deputy Outhouse handled the investigation with assistance from Deputy Millard.
