Shoplifting investigation leads to arrest in Victor

Deputies arrested a woman after a reported shoplifting incident at a Victor retail store Wednesday morning.

Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Miranda Dwello, 20, of Lyons, at Target on Commons Boulevard after investigators said she stole merchandise and left without paying.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to the store around 10:53 a.m. after Dwello was observed taking multiple miscellaneous items totaling $122.97. Investigators said she walked past all points of sale before leaving the store.

Deputies took Dwello into custody and transported her to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office substation for processing. She was charged with petit larceny.

Dwello was later released on an appearance ticket. The sheriff’s office did not release a court date.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.
