Color guards from across Western New York will take the floor this weekend as Marcus Whitman hosts its annual winterguard showcase.
The Marcus Whitman Band & Guard Boosters will present the Artistry in Motion Winterguard Show on Saturday, Jan. 17, at Marcus Whitman High School in Rushville. The show begins at 5 p.m., with doors opening at 4 p.m.
About a dozen ensembles are scheduled to perform, drawing students and supporters from across the region. Organizers say the event highlights the performance side of marching arts during the winter season.
This year marks the first time Marcus Whitman will field two winterguard groups. The program includes a youth-aged cadet ensemble and a varsity-level group made up of students from the Marcus Whitman and Penn Yan Central School Districts.
Both groups will premiere their 2026 productions set to music from the musical Waitress. The varsity performance, titled Mine, features the song “She Used to Be Mine” and focuses on resilience and overcoming obstacles.

Following the performances, organizers will present the third annual Brady Rouse Memorial Award to a longtime supporter of the marching arts at Marcus Whitman.
General admission is $10, with tickets priced at $8 for students and seniors. More information is available through the Marcus Whitman Marching Wildcats’ Facebook page.
