The Buffalo Bills suffered another blow to their receiving corps following their wild-card win.
Wide receiver Tyrell Shavers tore his ACL during Buffalo’s victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars and will miss the remainder of the postseason, head coach Sean McDermott announced Tuesday.
The news comes one day after McDermott confirmed that Gabe Davis also suffered a torn ACL in the win. McDermott said Monday the team was still evaluating Shavers before additional testing revealed the injury.
Shavers was injured during the game but returned to finish it, playing more than 50 percent of the offensive snaps. He recorded one catch for 14 yards while continuing to contribute despite the knee injury.
The injury ends a season in which Shavers took on a larger role after earning a spot on the 53-man roster out of training camp. He appeared in all 17 regular-season games, totaling 23 receptions for 245 yards and a touchdown while emerging as one of the team’s top blocking wide receivers.
Reinforcements could be on the way. The Bills opened the practice window for Curtis Samuel, while Mecole Hardman remains on the practice squad along with Kristian Wilkerson and Stephen Gosnell.
