Investigators arrested a Seneca Falls woman following a welfare fraud investigation.
Leslie B. Meacham, 38, was charged Jan. 8 with misuse of food stamps, a Class A misdemeanor, according to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Timothy Thompson said investigators determined Meacham allowed other people to use her public assistance benefits during a period in 2025. The sheriff’s office said the alleged conduct violates state Social Services Law.
Meacham received the benefits through Seneca County, investigators said.
She is scheduled to appear in Seneca County CAP Court to answer the charge.
