A late-night crash into a ditch led deputies to arrest a Lyons man on multiple charges in the Town of Arcadia.
Raul Gonzalez, 30, of Butternut Street, was charged with driving while intoxicated after deputies investigated a vehicle crash early January 1, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies were called to Hydesville Road around 1:42 a.m. after a vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a ditch.
Investigators said Gonzalez was driving the vehicle and showed signs of intoxication. Deputies also charged him with failure to keep right, unsafe lane movement, no front license plate, tinted windows, and having an open container.
Gonzalez was taken to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, where he voluntarily submitted to a chemical test. The test showed a blood alcohol content of .13 percent.
Deputies released Gonzalez with appearance tickets. He is scheduled to appear in Arcadia Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
Police remind the public that people arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
