A chapter closed Monday as Schuyler County wrapped its final legislative meeting of the year and said farewell to longtime leaders, according to the county legislature. Three veteran lawmakers and the county clerk marked their final session.
Legislators Jim Howell, David Reed, and Michael Lausell завершed a combined 32 years of service, with colleagues praising their dedication and community impact. Chairman Carl Blowers also honored Clerk Stacy Husted, calling her the backbone of the legislature as she heads into retirement.
New legislators Rob Halpin, Jeffrey Fazzary, and Gail Walker will take office Jan. 2, alongside returning member Laurence Jaynes. Nicole Smith has already stepped in as the new clerk.
