GOP keeps control on Ontario County BOS, margin shrinks

Republicans will still run the Ontario County Board of Supervisors next year, but with a slimmer edge, according to the Finger Lakes Times. Voters flipped two seats in November, cutting the GOP majority to 12–9.

Democrats scored wins in Geneva, Canandaigua, and South Bristol, including the first Democratic supervisor elected in South Bristol in 56 years. Republicans also flipped one seat in Bristol, partially offsetting those losses.

The 21-member board will include several new faces when it convenes Jan. 1, reflecting a more competitive political balance heading into the new year.
