One lucky ticket turned a Christmas Eve drawing into a record-setting payday, according to Gray News.
A single ticket matched all six numbers to win a $1.82 billion jackpot in the Powerball drawing, the second-largest lottery prize ever in the U.S. Officials say the winning ticket sold at a Murphy USA gas station in Cabot, Arkansas, just outside Little Rock.
The winner can take 29 annual payments totaling the full amount or a lump sum estimated at $834.9 million. Eight other players matched five numbers to win $1 million each, including two tickets sold in New York. The jackpot now resets to $20 million for the next drawing.
