A newly renovated building on Trumansburg Road is now home to a community art gallery and expanded workspace designed to bring art, design, and construction together.
Trade Design Build marked the opening of its new facility at 1520 Trumansburg Road with a ribbon cutting Friday, welcoming members of Ithaca’s business community inside the space .
The company began renovating the property after purchasing it last January. The updates include new studio and shop spaces, along with areas meant to showcase Trade’s work for clients.
“We’re incredibly excited to finally be showing the community what we’ve been up to and the changes that have taken place over the past year,” said Gideon Stone, a partner at Trade. “Not only is our space now optimal for our internal work and collaboration across our architecture and construction teams, but our products and services can now be put on full display for our clients.”
Gallery partnership launches in Ithaca

One of the centerpiece additions is a dedicated community art gallery launched through a new partnership with Corners Gallery of Cayuga Heights.
Corners Gallery owner Ariel Ecklund curates and manages the space, which features work from regional artists and makers alongside pieces from Trade’s woodworking and design projects. The partners plan to host regular exhibitions and public events.
“Looking ahead to 2026, we are planning to present an array of public events that will interweave art, architecture, design, and sustainability — mirroring the interests of both Trade Design Build and Corners Gallery,” Ecklund said.
Milestone year for Trade
The gallery opening caps a milestone year for Trade Design Build, which also received the Tompkins Chamber’s 2025 Entrepreneur of the Year award in June.
“We’re beyond grateful to our team for their hard work and craftsmanship and to our clients and community for trusting us with their visions and projects,” said Chris Willett, a partner at Trade. “We’re excited for what next year has in store as we continue to grow.”
