Danby’s town supervisor says a critical state report paints an unfair picture, according to The Ithaca Voice.
Supervisor Joel Gagnon called the comptroller’s follow-up “disappointing,” arguing it ignored real progress. He admitted bookkeeping had been “a little bit sloppy” but said the town is actively auditing departments and fixing issues from the 2022 audit.
Gagnon claimed Danby is “pretty darn close” to resolving all problems and said the state failed to recognize recent efforts to clean up credit card use and reimbursement policies.
