Jason MacBride stepped in as acting Ontario County District Attorney on Sunday, following the resignation of Acting DA Kelly Wolford, News10NBC reports.
Wolford is leaving to become First Assistant DA in Seneca County. She noted the Ontario County office will be left with only one assistant DA out of 19 possible staff. MacBride, who defeated former DA Jim Ritts in the GOP primary, will officially take office Jan. 1.
Defense attorney James Nobles will join the office in 2026. Both MacBride and Nobles are expected to handle the upcoming murder trials related to the death of transgender man Sam Nordquist.
